According to Energy of China, the longest coal transportation line in the country (Menghua Railway), which spans 7 provinces from the north to the south and covers a total length of 1,837 kilometers, will be completed in 2019. The longest coal transport line from west Mongolia to central China (menghua railway) will be completed, and the most optimistic forecast is before October 1st.
Menghua Railway starts from Haolebaoji station in Inner Mongolia in the north and ends at Ji 'an city in Jiangxi Province. It is designed to transport 200 million tons of coal per year from Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and Shaanxi where coal production is most concentrated to Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi where coal is scarcest.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the output of raw coal in the three provinces of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia increased by 3.3%, 14.1% and 11.1% respectively in the first eleven months of 2018, reaching a total of 2.221 billion tons and accounting for 69.09% of the China's output. The output of raw coal in Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi Province decreased by 49.5%, 0.9% and 7.7% respectively in the first eleven months of 2018, and the total output of raw coal was only 22 million tons.
The coal output of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia is further concentrated, and the coal output of Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou continues to decline. It is estimated that the coal consumption of the three provinces will reach 447 million tons by 2020, and the coal shortage will be further expanded.
