At the Production Regions:
In Yulin, prices continued to rise as many coal mines halted production at the end of the month, leading to concentrated demand at the operating mines. This, coupled with a broad increase in pithead auction prices, further fueled market bullish sentiment.
In Ordos, prices remained stable with slight increases, driven by improved market expectations and high daily coal consumption at power plants. User procurement enthusiasm has remained strong, while supply has been intermittently disrupted by rainfall. As a result, with tightening supply and stable demand, market prices are steadily trending upward.
In northern Shanxi, improved weather conditions have gradually revived pithead sales activity, and mine prices are running steadily with a slightly bullish tone.
At the Ports:
Long-term contract fulfillment of downstream users remains stable, while spot market purchases are limited. However, with the Daqin railway consistently transporting less than 1 million tons per day for several consecutive days, the inflow of resources into ports remains low, and inventories continue to decline—providing strong support for sellers to maintain firm price expectations.
For Imported Coal:
Recently, the price advantage of imported coal over domestic coal has widened further, boosting end-user inquiry activity. Nevertheless, due to ample inventory and frequent rainfall that has reduced daily coal consumption, most power plants remain cautious in procurement, except for a few with rigid demand.
