The electricity consumption of the whole society in May increased by 7.2% YoY

On June 20, the National Energy Administration released data such as electricity consumption of the whole society in May.
In May, the electricity consumption of the whole society was 775.1 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 11 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%; that of the secondary industry was 530.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%; that of the tertiary industry was 141.3 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' living was 92.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%.
From January to May, the cumulative electricity consumption of the whole society was 3,837 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.6%, of which the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 3,657 billion kilowatt-hours. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 49.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%; that of the secondary industry was 2,536.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%; that of the tertiary industry was 691.8 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' living was 559.2 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.
