The raw coal output in China in May increased 4.2% year on year

The latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on June 16 showed that in May 2025, the national raw coal output was 403.28 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.2 percent, and the growth rate expanded by 0.4 percentage points compared with the previous month.
Compared with April, it increased by 13.97 million tons, a growth of 3.59 percent.
In May, the daily output was 13.01 million tons, an increase of 30,000 tons from 12.98 million tons in April and an increase of 628,000 tons from 12.382 million tons in the same period last year.
From January to May 2025, the cumulative national raw coal output was 1.98537 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.0 percent, and the growth rate narrowed by 0.6 percentage points compared with that from January to April.
