In December, China's electricity production grew steadily. Industrial power generation was 846.2 billion KWH, with an increase of 0.6% year on year.
In December, the planned industrial hydropower capacity was 82.7 billion KWH, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 7.4 percentage points higher than that in November, due to the improvement of water supply. Cumulatively, from January to December 2024, the national hydropower generation was 1274.25 billion KWH, an increase of 10.7% year on year.
In December 2024, the absolute power generation of the country was 597.5 billion KWH, down 2.6% year-on-year and up 15.5% month-on-month. For the whole year, in 2024, the national thermal power generation accumulated 6343.77 billiob KWH, an increase of 1.5%, and the growth rate narrowed compared with the previous 11 months.
