On January 20, the National Energy Administration released data such as electricity consumption in the whole society in 2024.
In 2024, China's electricity consumption will reach 9,852.1 billion KWH, up 6.8 percent year on year, of which 9,418.1 billion KWH will be generated by industrial power above designated scale. In terms of industrial electricity consumption, the primary industry consumed 135.7 billion KWH, up 6.3% year on year; Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 6,387.4 billion KWH, up 5.1% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 1,834.8 billion KWH of electricity, up 9.9% year on year; The domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 1,494.2 billion KWH, up 10.6 percent year on year.
