China Energy Investment Corp — the world's largest power producer and the top wind power developer in terms of installed capacity — continued to accelerate its green energy transition during the first half this year while ensuring domestic energy security, helping to diversify the nation's energy mix and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

The company's power generation installed capacity reached 333 million kilowatts during the first half of the year, including 124 million kilowatts of renewable energy, accounting for 37.3 percent of the total, company spokesman Huang Qing said during a news conference in Beijing on Monday.

The company, also known as China Energy, produced 310 million tons of coal and sold 430 million tons meanwhile, said Huang.

The company kicked off new energy projects with a capacity of 12.42 million kilowatts during the Jan-June period, and 9.06 million kilowatts were put into operation, bringing the total installed capacity to a historic milestone of 100 million kilowatts, he said.
