National electricity production rose 2.3% in May from a year earlier

The latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that China's power production growth has remained stable. In May, the planned industrial power generation was 717.9 billion KWH, up 2.3% year on year, 0.8 percentage points slower than in April. The average daily industrial power generation was 23.16 billion KWH. From January to May, the planned industrial power generation was 3657 billion KWH, up 5.5% year-on-year.

Specifically, in May, the absolute thermal power generation of the country was 453.8 billion KWH, down 4.3% year-on-year; Hydropower capacity was 115 billion KWH, up 38.6% year on year; Nuclear power capacity was 36 billion KWH, down 2.4% year-on-year. Wind power generation was 77.1 billion KWH, down 3.3% year on year; Solar power generation was 35.9 billion KWH, up 29.1% year on year.

From January to May, the planned industrial power generation was 3657 billion KWH, up 5.5% year-on-year.

From January to May, the absolute power generation of thermal power was 2,517.3 billion KWH, an increase of 3.6%. Hydropower generation was 408.9 billion KWH, up 14.9% year on year; Nuclear power capacity was 176.5 billion KWH, up 1.0% year on year; Wind power generation was 404.8 billion KWH, up 5.0% year on year; Solar power generation was 149.5 billion KWH, up 25.3 percent year on year.
