Electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 6.7% Y-o-Y

The National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in the whole society in 2023.

In 2023, the electricity consumption of the whole society reached 9,224.1 billion KWH, an increase of 6.7% year-on-year, of which 8,909.1 billion KWH was generated by industrial power above designated scale.

In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the primary industry consumed 127.8 billion KWH, up 11.5% year on year; Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 6,074.5 billion KWH, up 6.5% year-on-year; The tertiary industry consumed 1,669.4 billion KWH of electricity, up by 12.2% year on year; Domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 1,352.4 billion KWH, up 0.9 percent year on year.
