Coal imports in September were up 0.5% from a year earlier

China imported 33.048 million tons of coal in September 2022, up 165,000 tons or 0.5 percent from 32.883 million tons a year earlier, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
On a month-on-month basis, it was 3.592 million tons higher than 29.456 million tons in August, up 12.19 percent.
From January to September 2022, China imported 200.924 million tons of coal, down 12.7 percent year on year and down 2.2 percentage points from the previous 8 months.
