China Shenhua Group’s coal production increased by 4.5% in August

The announcement of major operation data for August 2022 released by China Shenhua Group shows that the commercial coal output of China Shenhua Group in August 2022 was 25.4 million tons, up 4.5% year-on-year. Coal sales volume was 33.8 million tons, down 12.9% year-on-year.
On a month-on-month basis, the trend of production and sales in August was differentiated, in which the output decreased by 1.8 million tons, down 6.62%; Sales volume increased by 300,000 tons month-on-month, up 0.90%.
In August 2022, the shipment volume at Shenhua Huanghua Port in China was 15.8 million tons, down 11.2% year-on-year. The shipment volume of Shenhua Tianjin Port was 4.2 million tons, up 7.7% year-on-year. Shipping and cargo volume was 12.9 million tons, up 10.3% year-on-year.
In addition, in August 2022, Shenhua’s power generation capacity reached 22.04 billion KWH, up 37.8% year-on-year. Total electricity sales in August reached 20.75 billion KWH, up 38.6% year-on-year.
From January to August 2022, Shenhua's coal production totaled 210.2 million tons, up 4.8% year-on-year. Coal sales totaled 277.4 million tons, down 13.6% year-on-year. From January to August 2022, the shipment volume at Shenhua Huanghua port in China was 135.9 million tons, down 6.1% year-on-year; Shipments at Shenhua Tianjin Port were 28.5 million tons, down 7.8% year-on-year. Shipping freight volume was 90.8 million tons, up 13.2% year-on-year. From January to August 2022, the accumulative total generating capacity was 125.81 billion KWH, up 15.6%.Total electricity sales from January to August 2022 totaled 118.18 billion KWH, up 15.9%.
