In August 2022, the country's absolute power generation reached 824.8 billion KWH, up 9.9 percent year on year and 5.4 percentage points faster than the previous month, with an average daily power generation of 26.61 billion KWH, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.
According to varieties, in August, the absolute thermal power generation was 598.9 billion KWH, up 14.8% year on year; Absolute hydropower capacity was 122.6 billion KWH, down 11% year on year; Absolute wind power generation was 46.3 billion KWH, up 28.2% year on year; Nuclear power was 36.3 billion kilowatt-hours, down 0.6 percent year on year; Absolute solar power capacity was 20.6 billion KWH, up 10.9 percent year on year.
In the first eight months of 2022, China's absolute power generation reached 5,597.5 billion KWH, up 2.5 percent year-on-year.
From January to August, the absolute thermal power generation energy was 3,882.7 billion KWH, down 0.2% year on year; Hydropower capacity 851.7 billion KWH, up 11.4% year on year; Wind power capacity was 437.3 billion KWH, up 9.6% year on year; 272.3 billion KWH of nuclear power, up 0.9% year on year; Solar power generated 153.6 billion kilowatt-hours, up 13.2 percent year on year.
