The National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption from January to August. From January to August, electricity consumption totaled 5,783.9 billion kilowatt-hours, up 4.4 percent year on year.
The primary industry consumed 76.7 billion KWH of electricity, up 11.0% year on year; The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 3,767.4 billion KWH, up 1.4% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 1,014.3 billion KWH of electricity, up 6.1% year on year; Urban and rural residents consumed 925.5 billion KWH of electricity, up 15.8 percent year on year.
In August, electricity consumption was 852 billion kilowatt hours, up 10.7 percent year on year.
By industry, the primary industry consumed 13.2 billion KWH of electricity, up 14.5 percent year on year; The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 510.7 billion KWH, up 3.6% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 161.2 billion KWH of electricity, up 15.0% year on year; Urban and rural residents consumed 166.9 billion KWH of electricity, up 33.5 percent year on year.
