The National Energy Administration releases data on electricity consumption from January to June. From January to June, China's electricity consumption totaled 4,097.7 billion KWH, up 2.9 percent year on year.
By industry, the primary industry consumed 51.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 10.3% year on year. The secondary industry consumed 2,741.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 1.3% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 693.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 3.1% year on year; Urban and rural residents consumed 611.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 9.6% year on year.
In June, the whole society consumed 745.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 4.7 percent year on year, and the average daily power consumption increased 14.7 percent month on month.
By industry, the primary industry used 10.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 12.4% year on year. The secondary industry used 494.9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 0.8 percent year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 135.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 10.1% year on year; Urban and rural residents used 104.6 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 17.7 percent year on year.
