The National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in March. In March, China's economy continued to recover steadily, and electricity consumption continued to grow, reaching 694.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 3.5% year on year.
By industry, the primary industry consumed 7.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 12.3% year on year. The secondary industry used 479 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 2.3% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 106.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 4.0% year on year; Urban and rural residents consumed 101.3 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 8.8 percent year on year.
From January to March, China's electricity consumption totaled 2.0423 billion KWH, up 5.0 percent year on year. By industry, the primary industry consumed 24.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 12.6% year on year. The secondary industry consumed 1,321.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 3.0% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 355.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 6.2% year on year. Urban and rural residents used 341.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 11.8% year on year.
