China's raw coal output reached 384.67 million tons in December 2021, up 7.2 percent year-on-year, according to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This is an increase of 10.7% from the same period in 2019 and a two-year average of 5.2%.
On a month-on-month basis, raw coal production in December increased by 13.83 million tons from November, up 3.73%, and the growth rate narrowed by 0.12 percentage points from the previous month.
Average daily output in December was 12.41 million tons, up 50,000 tons from 12.36 million tons in November, the sixth month-on-month increase since March and the fifth consecutive monthly increase.
According to the above data, the national raw coal output in December still maintained an increasing trend, although the monthly growth rate narrowed, but still maintained growth; The year-over-year and average daily production also continued to increase, and the year-over-year increase was further accelerated, the largest increase since April 2020.
Due to the continued implementation of the supply policy and the influence of factors such as the Winter Olympics, coal production in China has maintained a high level, and the growth trend of raw coal output has not changed.
From January to December 2021, China's total raw coal output reached 4071.36 million tons, up 4.7 percent year on year and 0.5 percentage points higher than the previous 11 months. This is an increase of 5.6 percent over 2019 and a two-year average of 2.8 percent.
