China's raw coal output reached 357.09 million tons in October 2021, up 4.0 percent year-on-year, compared with a 0.9 percent decline in the previous month, according to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Nov 15. That is 5.5 percent higher than the same period in 2019, and a two-year average of 2.7 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, raw coal production in October increased by 22.99 million tons from September, up 6.88 percent, after falling 0.37 percent last month.
In October, the average daily output was 11.52 million tons, up 380,000 tons from 11.14 million tons in September, the fourth month-on-month increase since March and the third consecutive monthly increase.
From January to October 2021, China's total raw coal output reached 3297.16 million tons, up 4.0 percent year on year and 0.3 percentage points higher than the previous 9 months. It was 4.1 percent higher than the same period in 2019, with a two-year average growth of 2.0 percent.
