China's economy continued to recover steadily in September, and electricity consumption continued to grow, reaching 694.7 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.8% year on year and an average growth of 7.4% over the past two years. By industry, the primary industry consumed 9.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 14.9 percent year on year. The secondary industry consumed 445.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 6.0% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 129.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 12.1% year on year; Urban and rural residents used 110.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 3.7 percent year on year.
From January to September, China's electricity consumption totaled 6,165.1 billion kilowatt hours, up 12.9 percent year on year. By industry, the primary industry consumed 75.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 18.9 percent year on year. The secondary industry consumed 4,098 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 12.3% year on year; The tertiary industry consumed 1,082.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 20.7% year on year; Urban and rural residents used 908.8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, up 7.0 percent year on year.
