Recently, the National Energy Administration (NEA) released the data of the whole society's electricity consumption in July.
In July, China's economy continued to recover steadily, and the total electricity consumption continued to grow, reaching 775.8 billion KWH, up 12.8% year on year and 16.3% compared with the same period in 2019. The two-year average growth was 7.8%. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 10.2 billion KWH, up 20.0% year on year; Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 506.8 billion KWH, up 9.3% year on year; Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 142.2 billion KWH, up 21.6% year on year; The domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 116.6 billion KWH, up 18.3 percent year on year.
From January to July, China's electricity consumption totaled 470.797 billion KWH, up 15.6 percent year on year. By industry, electricity consumption in the primary industry was 55.4 billion KWH, up 20.5 percent year on year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 3,167.8 billion KWH, up 15.3% year on year; Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 813.2 billion KWH, up 25.1% year on year; Domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents reached 673.3 billion KWH, up 6.6% year on year.
