China's installed power generation capacity stood at about 2.26 billion kilowatts by the end of June, up 9.5 percent year on year, according to statistics on the country's power industry from January to June released by the National Energy Administration on July 16. Of this, the installed thermal power capacity was about 1.27 billion kW, an increase of 4.1% year on year, accounting for 56.2 percent of the country's installed power capacity. However, the year-on-year increase in thermal power is the smallest.
By the end of June, China's installed wind power capacity was about 290 million kilowatts, up 34.7 percent year on year. Installed solar power capacity was about 270 million kilowatts, up 23.7 percent year on year. The installed hydropower capacity was about 380 million kilowatts, up 4.7 percent year on year.
From January to June, China's power generation equipment utilized 1,853 hours on average, 119 hours more than the same period last year. Of these, 3,805 hours were nuclear power hours, an increase of 286 hours over the same period last year. 1212 hours of wind power, 88 hours more than the same period last year; 2,186 hours of thermal power generation, an increase of 231 hours over the same period last year.
From January to June, the investment in power supply projects of major power generation enterprises was 189.3 billion yuan, up 8.9 percent year on year. Among them, nuclear power accounted for 22.6 billion yuan, up 44.3% year on year; Water and electricity 47.5 billion yuan, up 19.1% year on year; Solar power generation was 16.5 billion yuan, up 12.2% year on year; 20.2 billion yuan for thermal power, up 10.3% year on year; The investment in power grid projects was 173.4 billion yuan, up 4.7% year on year.
