Eight miners trapped after an accident in Jixi, Heilongjiang province, have all been rescued on Sunday night, CCTV News reported.
The accident occurred at around 12:00 am on Saturday when eight miners were working underground at Didaoshenghe coal mine owned by Jixi Company of Heilongjiang Longmay Mining Group Co Ltd.
Two teams comprising 30 members were sent to the site immediately to carry out rescue work.
Rescuers had preliminarily estimated the positions of the trapped miners, and as of Sunday morning they had excavated about a 40-meter channel, about 20 meters' distance from three of the miners.
Furthermore, rescuers installed a new exhaust duct in the roadway where the accident occurred to reduce gas concentration. They also used the original dynamic pressure water pipe to clean and reduce coal dust.
In another gas outburst accident at a coal mine in Hebi, Henan province on Friday afternoon, four miners were found dead and four were missing, according to CCTV News.
Search and rescue work at that site is also underway.
