The National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in February.
In February, China's electricity consumption was 526.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 18.5 percent year on year. By industry, the primary industry consumed 6.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 26.4 percent year on year. Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 321.8 billion kilowatt-hours, up 22.5 percent year on year; Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 100.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 24.7 percent year on year; Domestic electricity consumption for urban and rural residents was 97.7 billion kilowatt-hours, up 2.1% year on year.
From January to February, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 1,258.8 billion kilowatt-hours, up 22.2 percent year on year. The primary industry consumed 14.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 26.5 percent year on year. Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 801.2 billion kilowatt-hours, up 25.8% year on year; Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 231.3 billion kilowatt hours, up 22.5 percent year on year; Domestic electricity consumption for urban and rural residents reached 212.1 billion kilowatt-hours, up 10.0% year on year.
