According to data recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics, In December 2020, five provinces produced more than 10 million tons of raw coal, producing a total of 292.549 million tons of raw coal, accounting for 83.14 percent of the national output, or 0.86 percentage points more than in November. The total output of raw coal increased by 6.804 million tons compared with November, and up 2.38%.
The five provinces were Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and Guizhou, with the output of 97.797 million tons, 95.923 million tons, 62.293 million tons, 24.366 million tons and 12.17 million tons respectively.
From the year-on-year point of view, after entering December, under the national level guarantee supply requirements, Inner Mongolia's raw coal output increased for the first time since 2020, with an increase of 3.1%; It increased by 5.77% month-on-month, and the output again surpassed that of Shanxi Province, ranking the first in China.
Raw coal production in Shaanxi and Xinjiang fell by 4.7% and 9.1% year on year, respectively, in December. Shanxi saw a sharp increase of 20.5 percent and Guizhou saw an increase of 33.7 percent year on year. In addition to Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Xinjiang also saw month-on-month increases, with only Guizhou province declining 3.41 percent.
