China's absolute electricity output in November 2020 reached 641.9 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.8% year-on-year and 2.2% higher than the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.
 
The country's absolute thermal power generation capacity reached 470.1 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.6% year on year and the figure was down 1.5% in October. Absolute hydropower generation was 91.7 billion KWH, up 11.3% year on year and 14.1 percentage point less than the previous month. Nuclear power generation dropped 0.8 percent year on year to 32.3 billion kilowatt-hours, and 0.5 percentage point more than the previous month. Absolute wind power generation reached 37.8 billion kilowatt hours, up 5.9% year on year and 8.8 percentage points less than the previous month. Absolute solar power generation reached 10 billion kilowatt-hours, up 5.3%from a year earlier. The growth rate narrowed 2.8 percentage points from the previous month.
 
On a month-on-month basis, China's power output in November increased by 32.5 billion KWH, or 5.33%. Thermal power generation increased by 71 billion KWH, or 17.76%. Hydroelectric power output dropped by 43.2 billion KWH month-on-month, and down by 32.02 percent. Nuclear power generation increased by 3.6 billion KWH month-on-month, and an increase of 12.54%. Wind power generation increased by 2.7 billion KWH month-on-month, and up by 7.69%; Solar power generation dropped by 1.6 billion KWH month-on-month, or 13.79%.
 
From January to November 2020, China's absolute power generation reached 6,682.4 billion KWH, up 2% year-on-year and 0.6 percentage points higher than that of the previous 10 months.
 
Among them, the country's absolute thermal power generation was 4,709.6 billion KWH, up 0.3 percent year on year. Absolute hydropower output reached 1,137.8 billion KWH, up 4.9% year on year. Nuclear power generated 331 billion kilowatt-hours, up 5% year on year. The absolute power generation capacity of wind power was 373.1 billion KWH, up 10.7% year on year. Solar power generated 130.8 billion kilowatt-hours in absolute terms, up 8.1% year-on-year.
 
In November 2020, China's average daily power generation reached 21.4 billion KWH, an increase of 1.74 billion KWH month-on-month.
