Southwest China's Chuanxi gas field has added 83 billion cubic meters in proven reserves of natural gas, said the Sinopec Group.
The latest discovery puts total proven reserves of the gas field so far at 114 billion cubic meters, the company said.
Located in the western edge of the Sichuan Basin, the 138-square-km Chuanxi gas field has its main reserves stashed at around 6,000 meters underground.
Sinopec's subsidiary in southwest China discovered the gas field in 2018 and has developed 11 wells since last year, seven of which were completed and are delivering outputs, according to the company.
