Overall electricity consumption rose 7.2 per cent year-on-year in September

The National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in September.
In September, the country's electricity consumption reached 645.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 7.2 percent year on year. By industry, the power consumption of the primary industry was 8.5 billion kilowatt-hours, up 11.6% year on year. Electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 410.8 billion KWH, up 8.6% year on year. Electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 116.2 billion KWH, up 5.1% year-on-year. Domestic electricity consumption for urban and rural residents reached 109.9 billion KWH, up 4.0% year-on-year.
From January to September, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 5413.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 1.3 percent year-on-year. By industry, the power consumption of the primary industry was 63.7 billion KWH, up 9.6% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 3,602.5 billion KWH, up 0.5% year-on-year; Electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 897.4 billion KWH, down 0.2% year-on-year. Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents reached 849.8 billion kilowatt hours, up 6.0 percent year-on-year.
