China Shenhua Group’s coal production increased by 2.1% in August

The announcement of major operation data for August 2020 released by China Shenhua Group on the evening of August 15 shows that the commercial coal output of China Shenhua Group in August 2020 was 23.9 million tons, up 2.1% year-on-year and up 0.84% month-on-month. Coal sales volume was 38.0 million tons, down 0.8% year on year and down 5.0% month on month.
From January to August 2020, Shenhua's coal production totaled 193.2 million tons, up 0.1% year-on-year. Coal sales totaled 283.3 million tons, down 3.9% year on year.
In August 2020, the shipment volume at Shenhua Huanghua Port in China was 19.8 million tons, up 22.2% year on year and 1.02% month on month. The shipment volume of Shenhua Tianjin Port was 3.9 million tons, down 2.5% year on year and 2.5% month on month. Shipping and cargo volume was 10.1 million tons, up 2% year-on-year but down 17.21% month-on-month.
From January to August in 2020, the shipment volume at Shenhua Huanghua port in China was 133.1 million tons, down 0.4% year-on-year; Shipments at Shenhua Tianjin Port were 29.4 million tons, down 1.7 percent year on year. Shipping freight volume was 73.6 million tons, down 0.4 percent year on year.
In addition, In August 2020, Shenhua’s power generation capacity reached 14.34 billion KWH, up 9.4% year on year. From January to August, the accumulative total generating capacity was 90.28 billion KWH. Total electricity sales in August reached 13.45 billion KWH, up 10.1% year on year; Total electricity sales from January to August totaled 84.49 billion KWH.
