According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Sept 15, China's raw coal output in August 2020 was 325.81 million tons, down 0.1 percent year on year and 3.6 percentage points narrower than the previous month.
On a month-on-month basis, the figure was 7.87 million tons, up from 317.94 million tons in July and up 2.48%.
In August, the average daily output was 10.51 million tons, up 250,000 tons from July.
From January to August 2020, China's cumulative raw coal output was 2450.42 million tons, down 0.1 percent year on year and unchanged from the previous 7 months.
In August, problems related to coal production in Inner Mongolia were rectified, and safety inspection in Shaanxi Province still restricted the release of production capacity. However, under the premise of the national policy of "six stability" and "six guarantee", and the implementation of the National Development and Reform Commission's guarantee requirements, there is more obvious improvement in coal production than that in July. On the whole, there is little change in the output of raw coal and the supply of coal is basically stable.
