China's coal imports were 20.663 million tons in August, fell 37.29% YoY

China imported 20.663 million tons of coal in August 2020, down 12.289 million tons or 37.29 percent from 32.952 million tons a year earlier, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on Sept 7. And the coal imports were down 20.83%, or 5.437m tonnes, from 24.1m tonnes in July.
 
Coal imports in August fell 47.2 percent year on year to $1389.8 million, or 19.93 percent month-on-month. Based on this, the unit import price is US $67.26 / ton, down US $12.61 / ton year on year and up US $0.76 / ton month on month.
 
From January to August 2020, China imported 220.753,000 tons of coal, up 0.2% year-on-year. The accumulative import amount was US $15516.9 million, down 10.9% year on year.
