Thermal coal prices in Inner Mongolia edged down slightly in late-August

In late-August of 2020, the price of thermal coal in coal pit and the purchase price of thermal coal in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region edged down slightly.
On August 25, the average settlement price of thermal coal at mine mouth in Inner Mongolia was 234.90 Yuan/ton, down 0.01% compared with that of August 15, 2020. Among them, the average settlement price of lignite in the eastern region was 217.96 Yuan/ton, down 0.02% compared with that of August 15, 2020. The average settlement price of thermal coal in Ordos was 275.00 Yuan/ton, the same with that of August 15, 2020. Compared with that of August 25, 2019, the average settlement price of thermal coal at mine mouth in Inner Mongolia increased by 11.32%, of which the average settlement price of lignite in the eastern region increased by 19.74%, and the average settlement price of thermal coal in Ordos increased by 6.45%.
On August 25, the average purchase price of thermal coal in the region was 208.76 Yuan/ton, down 1.37% compared with that of August 15, 2020. When converted into standard coal (7000 kcal), the average value was 416.38 Yuan/ton, down 1.27% compared with that of August 15, 2020. Among them, the average purchase price of thermal coal in the eastern region was 213.45 Yuan/ton, the same with that of August 15, 2020. When converted into standard coal, the average value was 497.90 Yuan/ton,the same with that of August 15, 2020. The average purchase price of thermal coal in western Inner Mongolia was 205.01 Yuan/ton, down 2.49% compared with that of August 15, 2020. When converted into standard coal, the average value was 351.16 Yuan/ton, down 2.67% compared with that of August 15, 2020. Compared with the same period of last year, the average purchase price of thermal coal in the whole region increased by 2.47%, among which the purchase price of thermal coal in the eastern region increased by 8.81% and the purchase price of thermal coal in the western region decreased by 2.27%.
