According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on August 14, China's raw coal output in July 2020 was 317.94 million tons, down 3.7 percent year on year and 2.5 percentage points higher than the previous month.
On a month-on-month basis, that was down 16.34 million tons, or 4.89%, from 334.28 million tons in June.
In July, the average daily output was 10.26 million tons, and 880,000 tons less than in June.
From January to July 2020, China's cumulative raw coal output was 2122.82 million tons, down by 0.1% year-on-year, compared with a 0.6% increase in the first half of the year.
It is estimated that in the second half of the year, the country's coal production capacity still has some room to release, overall, the second half of the coal production will be higher than the first half. Even if the import policy remains the same in the second half of the year, and the import volume drops, overall, the reduction in imports is less than the increase in production, so the coal supply will increase steadily in the second half of the year.
