China imported 26.1 million tons of coal in July 2020, down 6.785 million tons or 20.63 percent from 32.885 million tons a year earlier, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on Aug. 7.
The month-on-month increase was 814,000 tons, or 3.22%, up from 25.286,000 tons in June.
Coal imports in July were $1735.7m, down 34.6 percent year-on-year and up 2.76 percent month-on-month. Accordingly, the unit price of import was US $66.5 / ton, down US $14.2 / ton year on year and US $0.3 / ton month-on-month.
From January to July 2020, China imported 20.09 million tons of coal, up 6.8 percent year on year. The accumulative import amount was USD 1,4127.1 million, down 4.4% year on year.
