China's railway coal shipments dropped 6.8% year on year to 1.12 billion tons

According to data released by the National Development and Reform Commission, railway coal shipments in the first six months of 2020 totaled 1.12 billion tons, down 6.8 percent year-on-year. In June, the railway transported 200 million tons of coal, down 0.7% year on year.
According to the above data, railway coal shipments in June increased by 0.1 million tons month-on-month, or up 5.26%. The year-on-year decline narrowed 8.7 percentage points from May. The decline in half-year shipments narrowed by 1.2 percentage points compared with the previous 5 months.
