Imports of coking coal dropped 4.5% and anthracite fell 28.2% in June in China

The latest data released by the General Administration of Customs shows that in June 2020, China imported 6.26 million tons of coking coal, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5% and a month-on-month increase of 1.47 million tons, an increase of 30.69%.
In June 2020, the import volume reached US $733.19 million, down 25.4% year on year. Thus, the unit price of import was US $177.12 / ton, down US $0.65 / ton month-on-month and US $33.01 / ton year-on-year.
From January to June 2020, the import of coking coal reached 38.12 million tons, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year. The accumulated amount was USD 5025.17 million, down 2.3 percent from the same period last year.
The latest data show that in 2020, China imported 510,000 tons of anthracite, down 28.2% year on year, and increased 70,000 tons month-on-month, up 15.91%. Imports in June 2020 reached US $45.51 million, down 42.2% year-on-year. Thus, the unit price of import was US $89.23 / ton, down US $1.78 / ton month-on-month, and down US $21.58 / ton year-on-year.
From January to June 2020, the total import of anthracite was 3.56 million tons, down 26.4% year-on-year. The cumulative amount was US $325.03 million, down 40.1% year on year.
