Coal output of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia was 1.27 billion tons in H1

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics recently, China's raw coal output in June 2020 was 334.28 million tons, down 1.2% year on year, and the decrease degree was enlarged with 1.1 percentage points over the previous month. Month-on-month growth was 4.84%. Average daily output in June was 11.14 million tons, 860,000 tons more than in May.
 
From January to June in 2020, China's cumulative raw coal output reached 1805.41 million tons, up 0.6% year-on-year, while the first quarter saw a decline of 0.5%.
 
In June 2020, five provinces produced more than 10 million tons of raw coal, producing a total of 273 million tons of raw coal, accounting for 81.67 percent of the national output and 1.09 percentage points more than in May. Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and Guizhou produced 92.983 million tons, 83.516 million tons, 62.857 million tons, 21.63 million tons and 12.014 million tons, respectively.
 
Inner Mongolia's coal output fell 9.6 percent year-on-year in June; Shaanxi's coal output fell 0.3 percent year-on-year in June; Guizhou's coal output increased 4.7 percent year-on-year in June; Shanxi's coal output increased 4.8 percent year-on-year in June; Xinjiang's coal output increased 14.8 percent year-on-year in June.
 
On a month-on-month basis, Inner Mongolia's raw coal output fell by 375,000 tons, or 0.45%. Xinjiang's raw coal output increased by 1.542 million tons, or 7.68% from the previous month. Shanxi's raw coal output increased by 7.649 million tons, or 8.96% compared with the previous month. Guizhou's raw coal output increased by 1.053 million tons, or 9.61 percent from the previous month. Shaanxi's raw coal output rose 6.2 million tons, or 10.94 percent from the previous month.
 
The total raw coal output of the five major coal producing areas in June increased by 16.06 million tons from the previous month and 2.894 million tons from the same period last year.
 
According to the cumulative data, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi had the largest output from January to June in 2020. Shanxi Province's cumulative raw coal output is 488.176 million tons, accounting for 27.04% of China's cumulative coal output, up 2.3% year-on-year; Inner Mongolia's cumulative raw coal output is 473.442 million tons, accounting for 26.22% of the country's cumulative output, down 8.8% year-on-year. Shaanxi's cumulative raw coal output was 311.527 million tons, accounting for 17.26% of the country's cumulative coal output, up 16.8% year-on-year. The three provinces and autonomous regions produced 1273.145 million tons of raw coal from January to June, accounting for 70.52 percent of the country's total raw coal output.
