According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's raw coal output in June 2020 was 334.28 million tons, down 1.2% year on year and the reduction degree enlarged by 1.1 percentage points than that of the previous month.

On a month-on-month basis, the figure was up 15.44 million tons, or 4.84% from 318.84 million tons in May.

In June, the average daily output was 11.14 million tons, 860,000 tons more than that in May.

From January to June in 2020, China's cumulative raw coal output reached 1805.41 million tons, up 0.6% year-on-year, while the first quarter saw a decline of 0.5%.

In June, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia, which produce most of the coal in China, had their supply growth limited by strict control of coal production. Combined with the impact of safety inspection, environmental protection and other factors, coal supply is still relatively tight.

However, when the relevant departments put forward that the coal mines in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia should strive to increase production and supply on the premise of ensuring safety, the supply increase in the later period may become inevitable.
