From January to May, 920 million tons of coal were transported by railways

According to data released by the National Development and Reform Commission, 920 million tons of coal were shipped from January to May in 2020, down 8% year-on-year. The railway transported 190 million tons of coal in May, down 9.4% year on year.
The NDRC did not release data for that of January-April period, but the decline was 6 percent in the January-March period and 6.2 percent in the January-February period.
From the above data can be learned, in April and May the national railway coal shipments decreased significantly compared to the same period last year.
