China's electricity consumption rose 0.7% year-on-year to 557.2b KWH in April

In April, China used 557.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 0.7 percent from a year earlier. By industry, the primary industry's electricity consumption was 6.2 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 390.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 1.3 percent year on year. Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 79.6 billion kilowatt-hours, down 7.8 percent year on year. Domestic electricity consumption for urban and rural residents was 81 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.5 percent year on year.
From January to April, China's electricity consumption totaled 2127 billion kilowatt-hours, down 4.7 percent year on year. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry is 22.8 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year growth of 5%. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 1.3884 trillion kilowatt-hours, down 6.1% year on year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 342.4 billion KWH, down 8.1% year on year. Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents was 373.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 3.9% year on year.
