National electricity consumption in March from National Energy Administration

On April 16, the National Energy Administration released nationwide electricity consumption data for March.
In March, China's electricity consumption was 549.3 billion kilowatt-hours, down 4.2% from a year earlier. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 5.2 billion KWH, with a year-on-year growth of 4%. Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 375 billion KWH, down 3.1% year on year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 70.2 billion KWH, down 19.8% year on year. Domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 98.8 billion KWH, up 5.3% year-on-year.
In the first three months of this year, China's electricity consumption totaled 1,569.8 billion kilowatt-hours, down 6.5% year on year. By industry, electricity consumption in the primary industry was 16.7 billion KWH, up 4% year on year. Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 997.1 billion KWH, down 8.8% year on year. Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 262.8 billion KWH, down 8.3% year on year. Domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 293.2 billion kilowatt-hours, up 3.5 percent year-on-year.
