As of March 31, there were 254 legally produced coal mines in Guizhou Province, with a total capacity of 135.47 million tons per year, according to a statement issued by the Guizhou Provincial Energy Bureau.
There are 120 coal mines of 300,000 tons/year; 80 coal mines of 450,000 tons/year; 54 coal mines of 450,000 tons/year or above.
Compared with the same period last year, the number of coal mines produced in Guizhou Province decreased by 161 and the production capacity decreased by 19.7 million tons per year.
Compared with the coal production capacity data of Guizhou Province released by the National Administration of Work Safety by the end of 2019, the number of produced coal mines increased by five, with the capacity increasing by 1.95 million tons/year.
The Guizhou Provincial Energy Bureau released a list of nine coal mines with a total capacity of 2.55 million tons will be shut down in 2020 on April 15.
Since 2020, Guizhou has released a list of 49 coal mines to be closed in three batches, with a total production capacity of 5.4 million tons. Among them, there are 11 coal mines with an annual output of 90,000 tons; 28 coal mines with an annual output of 150,000 tons; 2 coal mines with an annual output of 210,000 tons; 5 coal mines with an annual output of 300,000 tons; 2 coal mines with an annual output of 450,000 tons. According to the above data, the coal mines to be closed are mainly small ones with backward production capacity.
By 2020, all the coal mines in the province will be 300,000 tons/year or more, of which large and medium-sized coal mines will account for more than 80% of the production capacity, and the scale of the main enterprise group of a single coal mine will reach more than 3 million tons/year.
