According to the Shanxi Provincial Energy Bureau, as of March 24, the recovery rate of coal production capacity in Shanxi Province reached 95.42%, and the number of coal mines under production, capacity utilization rate and daily output all returned to normal levels.
However, from the production data, compared with the same period in previous years is still low.
According to the data, from January to February in 2020, the raw coal output above the scale of Shanxi Province was 126.812 million tons, down 5.6% year on year, while the raw coal output from January to December in 2019 was up 6.1% year on year, and that from January to February in 2019 was up 6.0%.
As of December 31, 2019, Shanxi had 643 coal mines with a total production capacity of 994.75 million tons per year, according to a statement on Shanxi's coal production capacity released by the State Administration of Work Safety.
