As of December 31, 2019, there were 249 producing coal mines in Guizhou Province with a total production capacity of 133.52 million tons per year, according to a statement on Guizhou's coal production capacity released by the state administration of work safety.
Specifically, 3 sites in Guiyang City have a total production capacity of 900,000 tons/year; 78 sites in Liupanshui City, with an annual capacity of 56.7 million tons; 23 sites in Zunyi City, with a total capacity of 9.15 million tons/year; 30 sites in Qianxinan Prefecture, with a total capacity of 12.15 million tons/year; 100 sites in Bijie City, with a total capacity of 48.47 million tons/year; 12 sites in Anshun City, with a total capacity of 4.65 million tons/year; 3 sites in Qiannan Prefecture, with a total capacity of 1.5 million tons/year.
According to the above data, Liupanshui and Bijie account for a large proportion of the coal production in Guizhou Province, among which Liupanshui accounts for 31.33% of the total number of coal production in the province and 42.47% of the total production capacity. The number of coal mines produced in Bijie accounts for 40.16% of the total number of the province, and the production capacity accounts for 36.3% of the total production capacity of the province.
According to the announcement, there are 35 producing coal mines with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons or more, with a total production capacity of 140.45 million tons per year, accounting for 83.07 percent of the total production capacity.
