China's coal imports grew by 33.1% year-on-year from January to February

According to customs statistics, in the first two months of this year, China's import and export of goods totaled 4.12 trillion Yuan, down 9.6% from the same period of last year. Of this, exports totaled 2.04 trillion Yuan, down 15.9%. Imports totaled 2.08 trillion Yuan, down 2.4 percent. The trade deficit was 42.59 billion Yuan, compared with a surplus of 293.48 billion Yuan in the same period of last year.
In terms of us dollars, China's import and export volume in the first two months was 591.99 billion us dollars, down 11%. Of this, exports were 292.45 billion us dollars, down 17.2%. Imports reached 299.54 billion us dollars, down 4%. The trade deficit was $7.09 billion, compared with a surplus of $41.45 billion a year earlier.
Coal imports totaled 68.06 million tons, up 33.1%. The average import price was 515.9 Yuan per ton, down 4%.
