The reporter learned from the Publicity Department of the Luoping County Party Committee in Qujing City, Yunnan Province, that at 21:10 on February 29, a roof accident occurred at the Shugentian Coal Mine in Luoping County of Shizonghengjin Trading Co., Ltd. in Qujing City. It has been verified that there were 22 people underground at the time of the accident. After rescue efforts, 17 people were rescued safely, leaving a total of five dead.
At present, the rescue work has been completed; the cause of the accident and the aftermath of the work are under investigation.
