The number of accidents and deaths at coal mines in Shandong Province fell by one in January compared with the same period of ast year, according to a work bulletin issued by the Shandong Coal Mine Safety Administration. In January, a total of 26 mines were monitored, 233 hidden safety hazards were investigated, and 7 operations were ordered to stop partially, with an administrative fine of 848,000 Yuan.
In January, the province's coal mines produced 9.777 million tons of raw coal (scheduled data), without coal mine accident. Provincial coal mines produced 7.759 million tons of raw coal, 73,000 tons less than the same period of last year. The million-ton mortality rate was zero, flat year on year. The output of raw coal from the municipal and county-owned mines was 20.18 million tons, up 298,000 tons year on year. The mortality rate of one million tons was 0, with a year-on-year decrease of 0.581.
