Over the past few days, Xinjiang's energy enterprises have taken a variety of measures to achieve stable and continuous production.
In terms of coal, several key open-pit coal mines have stepped up production. In particular, eight coal mines in Xinjiang that have been approved by the state have been operating continuously, which has promoted the release of high-quality production capacity in Zhungeer East and other large coal bases and effectively guaranteed the supply of coal for basic production and living in Xinjiang. At present, there are 40 coal mines under production in Xinjiang, and their production capacity accounts for 87.9 percent of the total, 25.2 percentage points higher than that of coal mines in China.
In terms of electric power, there are 3.3 million tons of coal in the 40 main power plants in Xinjiang, which can meet the demand of power plants for about 14 days. At present, the whole Xinjiang’s power grid operation is safe and stable, leading to the overall balance of power supply and demand.
