Energy production situation in November

In November, the production of raw coal and crude oil for industries above designated size accelerated, the production of natural gas maintained rapid growth, and the production of electric power increased steadily.
In November, raw coal output was 330 million tons, up 4.5 percent year on year and 0.1 percentage point faster than the previous month. The daily output was 11.14 million tons, an increase of 660,000 tons from the previous month. From January to November, raw coal output was 3.41 billion tons, up 4.5 percent year on year.
In November, crude oil production was 15.7 million tons, up 0.9% year on year and 0.9 percentage points faster than the previous month. The daily output was 523,000 tons, an increase of 3,000 tons month-on-month. From January to November, crude oil production was 174.95 million tons, up 1.0 percent year on year.
In November, natural gas production was 15.1 billion cubic meters, up 8.0 percent year on year, 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous month. The daily output reached 500 million cubic meters, an increase of 30 million cubic meters month-on-month. From January to November, natural gas production reached 157.5 billion cubic meters, up 9.2% year on year.
In November, power-producing companies generated 589 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 4.0 percent year on year and unchanged from the previous month. It generated 19.63 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per day, an increase of 1.20 billion kilowatt-hours month-on-month. From January to November, power generation reached 6.5 trillion kilowatt-hours, up 3.4% year on year. By category, the growth rate of thermal power production slowed down in November, while the decreasing rate of hydropower enlarged, nuclear power and wind power accelerated, and solar power slightly slowed down. Thermal power went up 4.4 percent year on year, 1.5 percentage points lower than the previous month. Hydropower was down by 6.4%, a 2.3 percentage points larger than the previous month. Nuclear power and wind power grew by 14.9 percent and 20.7 percent, 9.5 and 10.7 percentage points higher than the previous month respectively. Solar power grew 2.7 percent, down 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.
