Mongolia exported a total of 34.8 million tons of coal in the first 11 months of this year, the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA) said Tuesday.
The figure was an increase of 4.2 percent from the same period last year, the MCGA said in a statement.
This year's coal export meant 2.94 billion U.S. dollars was injected into the state budget of the resource-rich nation, an increase of 326.8 million dollars year on year, it said.
Coal is the landlocked country's main export commodity. The Asian country exported a total of 36.5 million tons of coal in 2018, reaching an all-time high.
The country has set the goal of increasing coal exports to 40 million tons in the coming years.
