At least four people were feared dead and nine others injured in a mishap at an open cast mine in India's eastern state of Odisha, media reports said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred late on Tuesday night when coal blasting was underway at the open cast mine of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited in Talcher city.
According to reports, in effect of the blast, a portion of land collapsed and caused a landslide, trapping workers, heavy-weight vehicles and equipment.
The injured were rushed to the Central hospital at Talcher for treatment. A rescue operation is underway at the site.
Mahanadi Coalfields Limited is one of the major coal-producing companies in India.
