Mongolia's foreign trade of goods rose 10.2 percent year on year in the first five months of this year, amounting to 5.58 billion U.S. dollars, official data showed Wednesday.

Exports grew 13 percent year on year to 3.26 billion dollars in the Jan.-May period, while imports rose 6.3 percent to 2.32 billion dollars, the Mongolian National Statistical Office (NSO) said in a statement.

Mining products, including coal, copper concentrates and iron ore accounted for 83.1 percent of the total exports in the period, the NSO said, noting that a significant increase in revenue from these types of products mainly contributed to the overall growth.

The Asian country traded with 135 economies across the world in the first five months of 2019.
